An impossible choice. The team he loves or two kids who just want a new home.
In a world where the magical magois elite reign supreme, non-magical techies like Sergeant Greg Ryder are expected to bow to their every whim. Greg thrives as a lead Enforcer for Toronto's elite Strategic Tactics and Response unit. Manhunts, high-risk warrants, bomb calls-Greg and his télnis handle it all, keeping the peace and saving lives. Work is his lifeline, drowning out the silence of his empty apartment; the heartache where his family once was.
But when Albion's chief magical law enforcement officer is assassinated, his will names Greg as guardian of his two orphaned children. Their uncle, Lord Torrance, erupts in fury. Determined to seize the children, he unleashes a deadly arsenal-mind-control spells, rigged warrants, even magical bombs.
To protect his new family, Greg must outsmart Lord Torrance at his own game. But in a world where the magois always win, can a techie cop save what matters most?
