Logline: When a tightly knit group of college friends climbs the corporate ladder of success, a lifetime of unchecked infidelity, greed, and deception unravels after a tragic death-leaving one man to watch his perfect life collapse under the weight of his own secrets.

Synopsis:

Jealousy. Lies. Greed. Desire.

Alex, Chelsea, Phillip, and Donna are inseparable college friends whose lives are tightly woven together. But in an era where being a little too naïve carries a devastatingly high price, their bond is built on a foundation of shifting sand.

Alex and Phillip have been best friends since high school, roommates through college, and masters of deception. Neither knows the definition of being faithful, and both have turned lying into an art form.

Graduation brings the success they always craved: dental school for Chelsea, advertising for Phillip, law school for Donna, and a lucrative stock brokerage career for Alex. But when Alex marries Chelsea, Phillip is named best man-while secretly burning with a quiet, dangerous resentment.

As the years pass, the corner offices get bigger, the babies arrive, and the affairs multiply. The group hides their betrayals behind a mask of perfect, upper-class normalcy.

Until the unthinkable happens.

When Phillip suddenly falls ill and dies, the tightly woven web of deceit begins to unravel thread by thread. With the ultimate buffer gone, the truths behind years of stolen moments and financial greed begin to bleed into the light.

Chelsea is forced to face a horrifying reality about the man she married, a sick child requires desperate measures, and Alex is left standing in the wreckage of a life built entirely on lies.

Standing Dead is a prestigious, deeply moving tragedy about the devastating ripple effects of betrayal, the cost of ambition, and the heartbreaking truth that some secrets can kill.
