Young MICHAEL is infatuated with his best friend BRIDGETTE. She is the perfect candidate for his girlfriend but she's locked him in the friend zone. Michael's efforts of attaining her are cut short by the devious interest of DION, a popular basketball player who Bridgette believes is nothing less than perfect. Numerous attempts by Michael to keep Dion and Bridgette apart continuously backfire. Michael's life becomes riddled with depression, alcohol abuse and eventually suicide attempts. Bridgette's fairy tale is interrupted when she finds out Dion is an abusive psychopath and drug dealer.
