The elves of Kashtar abandoned their Mother long ago, devouring the sun and exchanging immortality for the graces of a new, dark god. Through the god Ravan and ten millennia of night, they become the Seldai, vampire rulers of their planet, governed by their god-king, the Aemar, Ravan's vessel in the mortal world.
Every few hundred moonturns, the Aemar is murdered by his only son in Ravan's pursuit of the perfect body. A new age approaches, and the dark god desires his eternal vessel.
But of this royal generation, there are two heirs: twins.
One, prophesied to embody him in perfection. The other, to bring a daughter of the sun to his lands and destroy him. Which twin will fulfill which role, not even the god yet knows.
